Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about TradeNRisk — from connecting your MT5 account to configuring prop firm risk rules.

Getting Started

What is TradeNRisk?

TradeNRisk is an automated risk management platform for MetaTrader 5 traders. It connects to your MT5 account via the MetaApi cloud bridge and monitors your trades 24/7. When your configured risk rules are breached — daily loss limit, weekly loss limit, max drawdown, or trade count — it automatically closes positions and locks the account to prevent further losses.

What brokers do you support?

We support any broker that offers MetaTrader 5 — including IC Markets, Pepperstone, PU Prime, Eightcap, Exness, Forex.com, and hundreds more.

How do I connect my MT5 account?

Connecting takes under 5 minutes: sign up, enter your MetaTrader 5 login ID, investor or master password, and server name. Configure your risk rules and your account is protected immediately.

Do I need to keep MetaTrader 5 running?

No. TradeNRisk monitors your account from the cloud via MetaApi's WebSocket connection. You can close your MT5 terminal entirely.

Prop Firm & Funded Accounts

Can I use TradeNRisk on a prop firm account?

Yes — TradeNRisk is built specifically for prop firm and funded account traders. It works with FTMO, The5ers, FundingPips, and any prop firm running MetaTrader 5.

Is TradeNRisk allowed by FTMO?

Yes. FTMO allows external risk management tools that don't place trades on your behalf. TradeNRisk only monitors and closes positions when your own risk rules are breached.

What does a failed evaluation cost?

An FTMO 100K challenge reset costs approximately $540. The5ers and FundingPips range from $79 to $399. TradeNRisk costs $25/month — one prevented reset pays for more than a year of protection.

Risk Rules & Protection

What risk rules can I configure?

Daily loss limit, weekly loss limit, max drawdown protection, daily profit target, max open trades per day, max lot size per trade, blocked symbols, trading hours restrictions, and auto breakeven with partial profit taking.

What happens when I hit my daily loss limit?

TradeNRisk automatically closes all open positions and prevents new trades for the rest of the trading day. Trading resumes at the next market open (6:00 PM ET).
